The Beaver Colony celebrated its 30th birthday on Sunday 9th March.

The whole group came together – nearly 100 people, comprising Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and leaders – at Uplands Community Centre for a joint celebration.

There were activities, an indoor campfire, a fantastic birthday tea and celebration cake. The afternoon was rounded off with a disco “with a difference”

Peter Aldous MP and Lowestoft Mayor, June Ford joined the celebrations, as well as two Beavers from the original Colony, one of whom attended the very first meeting. There were also representatives from the District and County, as well as past leaders, including some from the original Colony.

The Beaver Colony currently has spaces available for children aged at least 5 years and 9 months. Beavers move on up to Cubs on a regular basis.
